Never had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Meyer, but his legacy is well-preserved at Midway. Really friendly staff, nice portions, and excellent quality meats at screamin’ good prices (not sure how they manage that)! 3-meat ($22?!?!) had tender ribs with great rub, brisket was moist and smoky, sausage seems house-made. Her brisket meatloaf (Wednesday lunch special) just disappeared😉 Great decor inside, rustic even in the modern space, with impressive mounts along the walls.

I was skeptical at first but when someone ordered their brisket and turkey to go for a private party, it was love at first bite. Having lived in Houston now for only a little over one year, we have tried most of the “top 5”barbecue places. And, those places are all very good and deserve their recognition and praise. However, Midway, is under-rated. It’s incredible. The meat is prepared so the moisture is locked in every bite, and the seasoning is wonderfully balanced and flavorful. I’ve had the brisket, which honestly I would really have a hard time comparing brisket for most good places, and Midway brisket is very good - but the turkey at Midway is another level. I also had the chicken today, I didn’t have high expectations when I ordered it, but I was pleasantly surprised with the large portions paired with being incredibly delicious. I’ve been here many times, I came this time to try the brisket tacos and they did not disappoint! Definitely a staple in the Katy community if you haven’t tried their food you’re missing out. Also they have great desserts, my favorite is the cheesecake.

Solid barbecue experience! Enjoyed my brisket and sides and had a nice time eating. Though I will say, I felt like I was being watched with all the taxidermies. Maybe they were judging me for eating their friends. Could be superstitious of me, though.

I stopped in on Saturday 4/4/26 for a 2-meat plate (moist brisket and jalapeño sausage) to go for dinner. While the cashier was great, the experience went downhill at the cutting station. I’ve never had an issue here before, but the portion of brisket I received this time was incredibly disappointing for a $20+ plate—I've uploaded a photo for reference. It felt like the cutter was intentionally being stingy with the servings. If I see the same person behind the counter next time, I’ll likely head down the street to the other BBQ spot instead.
