We come to El Jarrito all the time, and it never disappoints. The fajitas and the quality of the meat are absolutely excellent—perfectly cooked, flavorful, and always consistent. Honestly, whatever you order is delicious, you really can’t go wrong here. Another big plus is the super fast service. No matter how busy it is, the food comes out very quickly, which makes the experience even better. The atmosphere is authentic, local, and welcoming, not like a chain restaurant at all—just a great, genuine Mexican spot. Highly recommended. This is definitely one of our favorite places in Katy

We have been longtime customers of El Jarrito for over 10 years, and the food and service have always been outstanding. We frequently order takeout, and the enchiladas are always freshly prepared, hot, and absolutely delicious. Even by the time we get home, the food is still warm and tastes freshly made. The staff consistently goes above and beyond with their customer service. On busy Friday nights, there can sometimes be a short wait for takeout orders, which is completely understandable with how popular they are for both dine-in and takeout. Even during the rush, the staff is always attentive and welcoming, often offering us a drink while we wait for our food to be finished. We highly recommend El Jarrito — and their margaritas are always excellent while you wait!

We have been here multiple times. We enjoy bringing the kids with friends who bring their kids, they play out in the play area which is like one big sand box with a mini play ground. It gets messy, but they have a rinse station and the kids love it while us adults can enjoy time for ourselves. Food typically is good. Service is ok. Nothing usually to complain about. However, this last time, they wouldn’t honor the Tuesday’s Kids eat free special that they advertise online. Waiter says it has to be printed out, except there is nothing to print but the webpage itself and mind you it doesn’t say anything about it needing to be printed. I had to escalate it for it to finally be comped, which shouldn’t need to happen. Be careful with happy hour, they say margaritas, but it doesn’t included the flavored ones. Most importantly…DO NOT, by any means, order the SHRIMP COCKTAIL. I always order this

Update: Went back on a Thursday evening and this time I ordered enchiladas Verdes.....much much better! Also got the table side guacamole, which was fresh and delicious! Our server was busy, but attentive. Also the restaurant was a bit less busy and the music wasn't so loud this visit, so I could hear the conversation at my table. Overall much better experience. Probably best to go on weeknights and avoid on busy weekend nights. Original review: Visually a very cool place, but it was far too loud to hear the person right next to you. My dish (one of the combination plates) was rather bland. The server was nice, but at the end of our meal he was no where to be found and we had to wait a ridiculous amount of time to get our check. I think he literally forgot we were still there.

Excellent restaurant; we really enjoyed the food and the experience. This is a stunning location that makes you feel as though you are in an other country, perhaps Spain or Mexico. I should also remark the excellent service we received. However, it was Monday after one o'clock. Our meals were fantastic! The appetizer of chips, salsa, and bean soup was followed by our meals, my sister's wonderful margarita cocktail, and finally the dessert. Having lunch here was enjoyable. The decor is awesome-looking and the spacious surrounds are wonderful to behold as well. The ambiance inside and out feels quite homy. We will return to El Jarrito 21724 Highland Knolls Dr, Katy, Texas, and we highly suggest it!
