Big T's Smokehouse

The food was horrible to say the least. Their posted open time was 530pm by 720pm they were out of one of the two meats I was originally sold me for my plate (ribs), understandable. I substituted for brisket instead TERRIBLE choice. The brisket was amazingly, tender and dry at the same time. And the grease that was rendered at the bottom of the container was horrible. Can’t forget to mention the sausage it was over processed to the point that it became grainy and broke apart on the tongue. The beans were definitely canned with a little ground meat added. And the potato salad, which is one of my favorite barbecue sides, is one of the worst I’ve ever tasted. Think mashed potato flavored potato salad with no salt and pepper. For $57 and gas bill four dollars a gallon, I am highly upset.

Note: This review is from a November 2025 visit. Okay, I don't like to give negative reviews, so I will let the photo speak for itself. We spent $11 a person, and I'll upload the receipt so you can see that I'm not BSing. The picture that I'm attaching shows that a friend of mine got a different sandwich than I did. So we decided to cut our sandwiches in half and split them so we could both experience what the other had. I want you to look at this picture and just tell me if this was worth $11. Now, I understand it was close to closing time. It was like 8 or 9 o'clock at night when we ordered, so it might have been the scraps. But the food truck, I don't know, they could have done better, is all I'm saying. That portion size was ridiculous for the price, and the wait was too long. I want to try to give them another chance because I believe in uplifting and not tearing down. So, as I poi

Visiting Houston from Illinois, wanted some good brisket to make brisket nachos. Decided to try the brisket fries, baked beans and Mac n cheese. Honey let me tell you! That brisket is FIRE you hear me!!! Delicious mixed in with the Mac n cheese AND the baked beans are delicious too!! I WILL be back next trip!! (My daughter lives in Katy and my youngest son attends U of H so I’ll definitely be back)

This is definitely a Hidden Gem 💎 You really can’t find good barbecue places here in Katy but this place 10/10 ⭐️ He really knows what he’s doing on that grill!!! I came back twice in two weekends for the Brisket Baked Potato 🥔. Definitely didn’t disappoint! I drove 25 minutes in traffic and 20 minutes back home SUPER SATISFIED! 😋 This is my new spot for BBQ 🍗 in Katy! 🤩

I attended a 70s-themed birthday celebration catered by Big T’s, and I have to say… the food was absolutely delicious. The brisket was incredibly tender, the sausage (which I was told is homemade) literally melted in my mouth, and the potato salad, chicken, beans… everything was seasoned well and truly on point. You could taste the care put into every dish. Beyond the amazing food, their customer service stood out just as much. The team was courteous, professional, and very accommodating. We found out they may need to stay a little later than expected, and they were more than happy to assist the birthday girl without hesitation. Excellent food and excellent service. 10/10, highly recommend Big T’s for catering or any event. 👏🏾✨
